ELs have the double challenge of keeping up with academic content and acquiring English. In order to meet this challenge, teachers and students will need to be able to communicate. EL students need to understand the content the teachers are presenting, and teachers need to be able to discern if the student is grasping the lesson. How can teachers and students overcome language barriers? What are some strategies teachers can utilize to advance EL academic growth and English acquisition?
